The Beatles unveil a new video for ‘Here Comes The Sun’

The Beatles are still capable of making your day great. The band are celebrating 50 years since the release of their amazing album Abbey Road and are doing so with a brand new video for the George Harrison-penned ‘Here Comes The Sun’.

Directed by Trunk Animation’s Alasdair Brotherston and Jock Mooney, the clip sees vintage photos of the group floating throughout the famous Abbey Road Studio, and more precisely, Studio Two, where the band recorded their iconic album. Most of the images are from Linda McCartney, and collate through instruments and above Ringo’s drums to eventually create a golden nostalgia-soaked sun.

The clip then moves to an animation of the band’s feet crossing that famous road, with a white bird keeping an eye on them. The clip ends with images of the band’s final photo session on May 4th, 1969, a year before announced their breakup in 1970. The Fab Four are in the grounds of John Lennon’s Berkshire home. It is peaceful and serene.

The video is a pre-amble to the 2019 stereo mix of ‘Here Comes the Sun’ and the rest of the Abbey Road album as part of the 50th anniversary reissue, out September 27th (Tomorrow). It was remixed by producer Giles Martin, son of the Beatles producer George Martin.
